Geographic Location and Land Forms

Are you tired of your mainstream, loud, completely crazy, urban metropolis?,then the town of mission is for you. Mission is home to 36,426 hipsters just like you. If you are wondering where this city is located, the city of Mission is beautifully situated in the south-east of British Columbia along the Fraser River. Mission is mostly forested and with small flood paths lining the Fraser, the area is not really know for its extremely rich farm oil but to the north of the city is mediocre farmland. In British Columbia there are five morph-geological belts which the town of mission is part of the Coast belt, which consists of a large out-pour of granite and granite it contains heavily metamorphosed fragments of both the terrines of the Insular Belt and the Intercontinental Belt.

Water Drainage System

The sanitary sewer system also known as the “sewer system”, collects and disposes of waste and fluids from the internal plumbing system (toilets, shower, bath, laundry, sinks etc) of homes or other type of buildings. The storm sewer system typically referred to as the “drainage system”, collects and gets rid of the water from outside of the buildings, (roof downspouts, foundation drains, driveways, lawns etc.). The District of Mission uses both a Sanitary Sewer System and a separate Storm Sewer System. Some communities operate only a single sewer system (often referred to as a Combined Sewer System) where both internal and external fluids are collected and disposed of via a single sewer main system. The storm drainage system is a combined 100 kilometers of sewer mains, 140 kilometers of roadside ditches and even more streams and small rivers inside the district. The system relies on gravity to pull the water downhill into other areas with the exception of three stations that are operated and maintained by the District, pumps water through the dykes during high water level caused by the Fraser River Freshet.

Although there are schools in Mission it has twelve elementary schools and three secondary school and French Immersion programs also there is a Riverside College which you can attend.

Weather&Climate

Mission has an oceanic climate due to its proximity to the Pacific ocean. Mission, like Vancouver, lies in a coastal temperate rain forest zone, and enjoys a mild climate. The average temperature in July is 23°C/73°F, and the average temperature in January is -4°C/25°F. Each year, Mission gets an average of 163 cm/16in of precipitation and close to 2,000 hours of sunshine. With the hot summers and the cool winter the weather is perfect for casual coach potatoes. The ocean heats up more slowly than the land, but retains its warmth for longer. Moist sea breezes rising over the ocean and blowing inshore bring rain and cool the land in summer, but warm it in winter, so Missions climate is generally has more moisture and precipitation. Although British Columbia is known for its various earthquakes, avalanches, and violent storms but there have not been any recorded disasters such as those from the years 2000 and 2014, therefore expect nothing but rainfall.
